Trees of Life
It was that first trip to Mexico when I discovered the traditional árboles de la vida (trees of life). I was captured with the elaborate and colorful clay trees - diverse figures scattered and tucked in their many branches. I am fascinated with the often elaborate stories behind each of the árbole de la vida. There are many different themes - everything from religion, death, seasons and love. Needless to say, each time I see an árbole de la vida... I am still in awe.
